We are proud to announce our annual charity donation of £1500, which was made earlier this year. The funds were raised through the Pioneer Lottery, our members-only lottery which allows members to buy tickets for as little as £1. Every year, the credit union donates the proceeds to a local charity and this year, the money was split between the Motor Neurone Disease Association Manchester and District Branch and Rochdale and Middleton Foodbanks.
Supporting Local Charities
The Motor Neurone Disease Association Manchester and District Branch supports people affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and their carers, family & friends. They offer practical and emotional support, as well as funding research into the disease. Rochdale and Middleton Foodbanks provide essential support to individuals and families experiencing financial difficulties, by providing food parcels and other basic necessities.
Members’ Involvement
At the Annual General Meeting (AGM), members are invited to suggest charities they would like to support, and a vote is taken to determine which charities receive the donation. The involvement of members ensures that the credit union remains true to its ethos of being a community-focused organisation.

Join the Pioneer Lottery
The Pioneer Lottery is open to all Metro Moneywise Credit Union members, and participants can buy up to ten tickets for as little as £1 each. By joining the lottery, members have the chance to win up to £1000 while also contributing to a worthy cause. We encourage our members to participate in next year’s Pioneer Lottery and be part of the positive impact that we make in our community.
